Legacy is everything

Worldly possessions are great, but I always thought that the best thing I could ever do was to leave a legacy. Maybe I'd be remembered. And maybe I'd improve the world in my small way. That's just what I think. It's why I left the highly lucrative medical industry to teach at-risk teens. I don't regret it. I only regret I didn't do it sooner. The following are philanthropies I believe in and support.

“Philanthropy is not about money, it’s about feeling the pain of others and caring enough about their needs to help.”
Timothy Pina

All my business classes competed on raising money for this charity. We even got in the news because of it! One dollar saves one life. I can’t think of any other way to create such a huge impact for the least amount of money.

Countless people across the world go blind, simply because they couldn’t afford a $25 surgery! The Himalayan Cataract Project is a charity I love because of the their mission. And having spent 7 years in eye care, I have a special appreciation for what they do.

UN Women is the global champion for gender equality: that’s something we can all get behind. They work to develop and uphold standards and create an environment in which every woman and girl can exercise her human rights and live up to her full potential.
